ST. JOHN’S (January 26, 2016) – For the 8th year in a row, Lucas Oil Products Inc. will be one of the major sponsors of Targa Newfoundland. This sponsorship will make Lucas Oil Products Inc. the official motor oil of the 15th anniversary international tarmac rally.
Lucas Oil will have products on hand for competitors to use and for fans to purchase. A representative will be on site throughout the week to answer questions regarding the benefits of using Lucas Oil Products for motorsports and personal usage.
“The Lucas Oil sponsorship has been extremely rewarding for Targa over the past 7 years”, states Robert Giannou, President and co-founder of Targa Newfoundland. “Having an international motorsports player like Lucas Oil attached to Targa ensures that the motorsports world sees the event as an international attraction and a must for many motorsports enthusiast.”
Giannou continued by providing details on the newly created Lucas Oil Challenge, where competitors of Targa who sign up to use only Lucas Oil products in their vehicles, could win a free entry into the 2017 Targa.
“We felt a thank-you to Lucas Oil was necessary after so many years of sponsoring the event, hence the creation of the Lucas Oil Challenge. A free entry to the winner of the Challenge for 2017 is certainly a good way to celebrate Lucas Oil’s history with Targa and provides major incentive for competitors to use Lucas Oil Products for the event.”
“Lucas Oil Products Inc. is thrilled to be a major sponsor of this truly unique motorsports event,” stated Tom Bogner, Director of Motorsports Administration for Lucas Oil Products Inc. “Being one of only three such Targa’s in the world, the Targa Newfoundland provides us with major advertising in Canada and one of the best testing grounds for our products. Lucas Oil Products has been a huge part of the previous seven Targa’s and we are extremely proud to be a part of the 15th Anniversary event.”
Owned and operated by Newfoundland International Motorsports Limited, Targa Newfoundland is one of three internationally recognized Targa motorsports events in the world.
