Stage Operations training for Special Volunteers – those who accompany the event on the road for the entire event (Bambina and/or Targa) is scheduled for this weekend, Saturday April 8th and Sunday April 9th. The training will occur at the Murphy Centre on the College of the North Atlantic campus, Prince Philip Drive, St. John’s, from 10am – 6pm daily, in classroom L-201.
Training is open to anyone who wishes to be trained in specific duties for our events. Training includes learning how to operation timing equipment, radio procedures, emergency response protocol, setting up stages, and other related training. Any Special Volunteers who already have valid Stage Operation certificates for the 2017 season and feel they are prepared for the events, do not need to attend this training. If you feel certain aspects of your training needs updating, then by all means come along. Rookies or those who require re-training must attend this session if possible. If you are not able to attend, the online presentations along with the testing module will be given to you at a later date, however you must register with the Volunteer Coordinator to make sure you receive the documents.
The full weekend training will give greater focus on the information and putting it to use with practice situations either in the hallway or outside (weather dependent).
If you’d like to register for the course, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Ms. Leah Dalton at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no cost to take this course.
