Targa closes in on 1000th stage
Targa Newfoundland, one of the longest running tarmac rallies on the planet, will hit another major milestone this September. Teams competing this fall will cover the 1000th stage since Targa began 23 years ago in 2002. Robert Giannou, Targa co-founder and owner, calls it a remarkable achievement.

It took all of one stage for Cameron Combdon and Andrew Keeping to become hooked on Targa. The pair from the west coast of Newfoundland took part in their first Targa Newfoundland in 2024 in the shorter Bambina event.
